Take a 15-25 minute drive south to Anchorage where you can explore bike trails along the coast, endless restaurants and shops, and visit the local zoo and recently expanded museum.
Or, stay in town and take advantage of the beautiful surrounding area for hiking, camping, and of course, fishing! The Eagle River Nature Center is a local favorite, complete with several trails and yurt camping sites (If you decide to do this, best to book yurts in advance, especially during the summer! ernc.org)
